AZ Premium Outlets

There’s a place they say that you can go to to find great quality for great prices. Surrounded by dirt and cacti they say you can find almost anything there. They say these are AZ Premium Outlets.

Every now and then my mom and I will see these Premium Outlets on the television. They are constantly promoting the mall on different networks trying to get people to come out and buy. Since my mom and I both love saving money we decided that we might as well check them out since I was home for Spring Break.

For us these outlets weren’t exactly what we thought they would be. Yes, this outlet mall was huge and looked nice but there were a few things I thought that were a little odd with the entire outlet mall.

Checking out every single store I didn’t find that the prices were all that good. Sure there were a few store that did have outlet prices but a lot of the stores did not. Stores like Saks 5th off 5th, Ralph Lauren, or even Nike among others were only discounted like 30%. The only stores that really had excellent prices were Gap and Old Navy in which in a regular store you can find about the same prices. As I was looking around in some of these luxury stores I figured that I could probably find these brands for cheaper prices in other stores than their own factory story. For a place that really advertises good quality for good prices, I was a little disappointed.

I also thought that the mix of different stores and outlets were a little odd. It was kind of weird to walk from Ralph Lauren to Nike to the Dress Barn at a place that is supposed to consider their brands as premium. To me the Dress Barn does not scream the same thing Ralph Lauren screams. They are two totally different price points. One is luxury and one is discount.

The last and final thing I’m going to say about this outlet mall was that for advertising it to all of Arizona, the mall itself is not very central. I mean for us it was a good 30-minute drive. The only thing I can see why they built the mall where they did, was that it is surrounded by casinos which means they attract everyone there on vacation. And I do have to say they did attract a lot of people.

For promoting the mall the way they do, I didn’t find the AZ Premium Outlet mall to be all that fantastic. Yes, I was able to shop in stores like Saks 5th and Tommy Hilfiger that I normally don’t get too, but the price and the mix of stores to me weren’t that good. Maybe it was just the day I went that I couldn’t find many good deals and maybe some of you guys have had better luck, but to me it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. I hope that if I ever go back it’ll be better than when I took a little adventure their over break.
