Sliding into Spring

Spring, can you just stay put please? I’m sick of this back and forth. Can Mother Nature please just make up her mind if it’s going to be warm or cold? I want to know if I can wear my spring clothes or if I should still be wearing my down coat. Ugh. It’s so aggravating…

Every morning I have to check the weather three different times because it is so bi-polar here. When I wake up I might check and see that it is 32 degrees but then after my shower it might already be 45 degrees. In just a short 30 minutes the weather changes so much. And just because it was 60 degrees yesterday doesn’t mean it’s going be nice today. These days Mother Nature is making it very hard to pick an outfit that will be acceptable for whatever she throws at us.  If you’re stuck in between Winter and Spring like me, here’s a little outfit inspiration.

I have always loved plaid shirts. This one I got at Old Navy over the holidays but they can basically be found anywhere. The long sleeves make it warm enough for me to wear when it’s still a bit chilly in the morning. The best part is, is that if it does warm up then you can just roll up the sleeves.

Instead of just pairing it with boring old blue jeans, I matched them up with my white pants that I absolutely love. Adding the white to the outfit makes it a bit more spring like.

Instead of leaving my shirt down covering my waistline I decided to just tie it around my waist to add a little detail. I could have tucked it in too but I liked this better. I also put a thin belt around my pants to add detail and so I wouldn’t look weird if I had my belt loops showing without a belt.

To dress up the casual outfit, I wore my favorite shoes; my silver flats. It’s hard to tell in the pictures but I also added very simple jewelry to complete the look. A simple silver chain, earrings, and a ring I thought was perfect.

Because I incorporated the silver and the white into my outfit, I look ready for spring even though it’s still chilly.

If you are getting sick of wearing coats and layers like me, maybe this outfit can give you a little inspiration on how to successfully slide into Spring. Hope you enjoy!
Here's a ugly pick of my dysfunctional self.
