Spring Shorts

I love spring. I love the weather, I love the sun, and I love the cool breeze that whistles in my ear. But most of all, I love the shorts.

 

I absolutely love patterned shorts. I mean, who can’t? They are so colorful and bright that it’s hard to walk by them in the store and not stop. That’s how I got these shorts. I was just casually walking through JC Penney's when they just reached out at me. Last year I found these shorts and I am absolutely in love with them. They are the perfect color, perfect pattern, and perfect fit. And with shorts being so hard to find the perfect ones sometimes, I just had to buy them (the fact that they were also on clearance helped too).

The great thing about these shorts (other than the fact that they are fun), is that the length of them is just right. The perfect fit is so hard to find as they are either too long or way too short. These shorts from Stylus are exactly in between making them perfect for spring and summer.  They don’t make me look slutty but they also don’t look like I’m a 40-year-old mom.

These patterned shorts are so easy to style. Since they are colored and patterned I didn’t really want to add too much to them because they already bring color and a little fun to the outfit. I could have easily worn these shorts with a lime green or light blue top as well, but I thought that the simple scoop neck white top was perfect match for the floral printed shorts.

It was fairly warm today, but there was also a slight breeze that made it a little chilly at times, hence the jacket. I know, I know, who even wears jean jackets anymore, but I still do. I think it can really pull together an outfit sometimes. If I ever think my outfit is missing a little something, I usually just throw it on and I’m good to go.  The jean jacket gave a little texture and volume to my upper half which made the outfit look great.

I paired the shorts and top with just a simple silver necklace from Charming Charlie's. It was perfect for the look as since the shorts are sort of floral, the flowered necklace completed the outfit. I also wore my brown Marc Fisher sandals that I got at Macy's a few years ago to finish it off.

I love this outfit simply because it’s cute and I get to show off my fabulous shorts. If you don’t have a pair of colored or patterned shorts you need to get some now! They make any outfit!
